Welcome to Becky Williamson – Music Teacher
I have experience of teaching children of 4 years to adults up to 85+, either just as a leisure activity or also to prepare for graded exams or to support those taking GCSE music.
I provide personalised, one-to-one tuition so I can teach at the speed of my student’s learning.
I teach throughout the year, including most school holiday weeks, and can teach short or intensive courses, if wanted, or fortnightly if more convenient.

Unfortunately, I am not taking on any new pupils at present. I can’t see myself taking anyone off the waiting list before the start of 2026, but please get in touch if you are in no hurry and can’t find another teacher in the meantime.
Becky has taught both my children to play piano and one of my children to play cello. My oldest child passed grade 5 piano and theory with distinction. My younger child has passed her prep test for piano and initial grade standard at Cello.
Becky is a great music teacher and very adaptable to whether children want to learn for fun or to pass their music exams. Her love of music comes through in the regular concerts she puts together for her pupils to perform in if they would like to.

About Becky
I am a State Qualified Teacher but have taught privately for about three decades now and, since 2005, exclusively from home.
I approach music teaching professionally, aiming to produce an all-around musician, and specialise in patient, encouraging tuition of beginners and those in the early years of learning how to play their instrument or sing.
I love music and feel that it has enriched my life immeasurably: I want to pass on that enthusiasm to my students!
In 2012, I was appointed the ABRSM Honorary Local Representative for Sidmouth.
We are extremely grateful to Becky for her excellent teaching over the last 4 years with (our son). Her professional approach and structured teaching have been amazing and he has made enormous progress under your expert tuition.
